Layover: Paris

On my recent vacation I had an eight hour layover in Paris. Have I shared with you that Paris is my favorite city? I take any chance I can to travel to France! Sadly I was unable to sleep on my flight there so I was running on fumes…that did not stop me from enjoying some sweet treats, too much coffee and a bit of shopping.

Hello Lovies!

It has been too long since we have last spoke and I am sure I have missed out on so so so much! This summer has been so amazing. I had the chance to travel to Minneapolis for Ollie’s first birthday party then I was off to Lebanon for 10 days with a 24 hour layover in Paris (my most favorite city). And to top it all off when I arrived home, I started my new position in Marketing. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind as you can probably imagine! Next week I will be sharing a few or many photos from my trip. I have not even had a chance to download them yet!

I have really missed you all.

As you know I flew to Minneapolis to celebrate Ollie’s first birthday with him and what a circus {theme} it was! We had loads of food and drink for adults and children alike. Above is the cutie and his birthday cake!

Have you seen the movie Waiting for Superman? Film maker, Davis Guggenheim, follows promising and bright students, Anthony, Francisco, Bianca, Daisy, and Emily, as they travel our education system. Guggenheim shows the lowest lows of the US’ education system and the immediate need for a fix. But the film’s strongest impact comes from the educators striving for change and taking action. People like Geoffrey Canada, Mike Feinberg and Dave Levin who have started charter schools & have vowed to build a partnership with parents, students and teachers to ensure that each child that attends their school will go to college. Waiting for Superman is a wonderful movie that is part heart breaking and part hopeful provided that people like you and I get involved!

It has been a while friends since we have spoken! I am sorry that I have dropped off so dramatically. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind. I have a new job (within the same company) doing Global Events, I have moved to a new apartment and have been planning a much-needed vacation. I will be heading to Minneapolis next week to celebrate my sweet nephew turning 1 & then heading to Lebanon. Don’t worry, I will share photos from my travels with you.

Evening Summer Style

Even though it is summer, San Francisco is hitting a bit of a cold front and it can be hard to stay in the mid summer mindset. There is a fine line between staying stylish and freezing. After living in SF for 10 years (jeez, i seem old) I think I have mastered the art of doing both. I’ll let you in on my secret – it is all in the layers and sweaters mixed in with summer prices. I just adore the above look – i must try to create it with items in my closet!

Lebanese designer, Elie Saab, has blown me away with his F/W 2011 Couture Collection. I adore the miles of flowing fabric and tulle that has been transformed into the perfect silhouette and top it all off, each is adorned with beautiful shimmery crystals! The near sheer dresses are so delicate and utterly perfect!
